Synopsis:
In 1919 Siberia, in the outer reaches of a country recently torn apart by civil war lives a small Christian sect and an enigmatic leader, Balashov. Stationed in their midst is a company of Czech soldiers, on the losing side of the recent conflict and desperate to go home. Into this isolated community trudges Samarin, an escapee from Russia's northernmost prison. His arrival instigates a story of love, murder, and betrayal, a narrative that travels the breadth of Russia when the local shaman is found dead, suspicion and terror engulf the little town.
The Bookworms Mission:
We strive to reduce unnecessary landfill by taking used books, second-hand books, paperback books, hardback books, pre-loved books, great reads and recycled books and then redistributing them throughout New Zealand, Australia and the rest of the world. Readers can connect online with book titles, helping them find new homes, and support reusing and re-loving books that are affordable. At Bookworms you’ll find cheap books, hidden gems and even some lost treasures. We have a passion for sustainability, being eco-friendly, eco-conscious and we aim to incorporate that into all that we do.
