Synopsis:

Maxine Vaughan might be an out-of-work actress, but she has a talent for drawing attention to herself. For it's a case of being stranded in a borrowed wedding dress at seven in the morning, or bringing out the power-games to the Cornish holiday resort where her mother and long-suffering sister live, it's all in a day's work for Maxine. Naturally when she homes in on the local celebrity, photographer Guy Cassidy, it's because she fancies herself as his in-house model. Confident of her own blonde charms, already well tried and tested on the casting couch, Maxine puts herself under starter's orders in the race to become the next Mrs Cassidy. Any need-thin competition from super-model girlfriends like Serena 'perfection on a stick' Charlton just has to be met head-on in Maxine's view. But as the stakes are raised, all three women in the Vaughan family are affected by the Cassidy charisma, and for once in her life Maxine faces the danger of being outclassed where it hurts.

The Bookworms Mission:

We strive to reduce unnecessary landfill by taking used books, second-hand books, paperback books, hardback books, pre-loved books, great reads and recycled books and then redistributing them throughout New Zealand, Australia and the rest of the world. Readers can connect online with book titles, helping them find new homes, and support reusing and re-loving books that are affordable. At Bookworms you’ll find cheap books, hidden gems and even some lost treasures. We have a passion for sustainability, being eco-friendly, eco-conscious and we aim to incorporate that into all that we do.
