Synopsis:
Abandoned by her parents, Sameem Ali grew up in a children's home. When her family took her back she was beaten and treated like a slave. Summers she visited Pakistan for the first time, but she soon realised that she wasn't there on holiday. Aged just thirteen, she was forced to marry a complete stranger. Two months later she was pregnant. As a young teenage mother, Sameem suffered further abuse from her family. After finding true love, she ran away from home in order to keep her child safe. But she was about to pay the price for violating her family's honour.
The Bookworms Mission:
We strive to reduce unnecessary landfill by taking used books, second-hand books, paperback books, hardback books, pre-loved books, great reads and recycled books and then redistributing them throughout New Zealand, Australia and the rest of the world. Readers can connect online with book titles, helping them find new homes, and support reusing and re-loving books that are affordable. At Bookworms you’ll find cheap books, hidden gems and even some lost treasures. We have a passion for sustainability, being eco-friendly, eco-conscious and we aim to incorporate that into all that we do.
